Comfortable, Subtle Treatment
The Benefits of Take-Home Whitening
Our take-home whitening kits consist of a set of custom-built trays, which Dr. Shaggy will create from impressions of your teeth. You’ll also receive professional-grade whitening products, and a set of instructions for whitening your teeth at home. Usually, you’ll use the trays for about 1 hour per day over 2-3 weeks.
Take-home whitening has a number of advantages over in-office whitening. You don’t have to spend as much time at the dentist’s office, and you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home. It can also be cheaper than in-office whitening. You’ll get the same results, but over a period of several weeks, so the change is subtle and gradual.

The Benefits of In-Office Whitening
In-office whitening is ideal if you need fast results for a special occasion, such as a photoshoot, work presentation, or wedding. At MODERN BITE DENTISTRY, we use high-quality KOR chemical whitening products as well as laser and UV whitening tools to provide instant brightness.
The primary benefit of in-office whitening is that it’s much faster than take-home treatments. You can get a smile that’s up to 5-8 shades brighter in just a single appointment. It’s also very affordable compared to other cosmetic treatments, so it’s a good way to get started with cosmetic dentistry.
Getting Started
Who Is a Candidate for Whitening?
As long as your mouth is relatively healthy and you have stained or yellowed teeth, you’re a good candidate for teeth whitening. To see if teeth whitening is right for you, we recommend contacting Modern BITE Dentistry to schedule an appointment.
Understanding the Risks
Does Whitening Come With Any Side Effects?
Tooth sensitivity is a common side effect of teeth whitening. It’s usually quite minor, but may be uncomfortable, particularly if your teeth are already sensitive before treatment. This issue usually goes away within a few weeks after your treatment. We recommend using an anti-sensitivity toothpaste like Sensodyne to help with post-whitening tooth sensitivity.
Brighter for Longer!
How Long Do Results Last?
Usually, whitening results lasts between 1-3 years, depending on how you care for your teeth after treatment. Regular brushing and flossing helps prevent stain buildup, particularly if you use a whitening toothpaste. Seeing Dr. Shaggy for a teeth cleaning every 6 months will also help preserve your smile.
If you smoke or use smokeless tobacco products, your teeth will likely become stained again within months. Drinking less coffee, tea, wine, and other staining beverages will prevent stain buildup. You can consider drinking these beverages with a straw minimizing contact with your teeth to extend your whitening results.
